My understanding is that a part from a - Park Avenue or LeSabre should work. Does the model number have to match? Any input is sincerely appreciated.

Just take the part and they will match one up with the car mfg and model. Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. Thanks again! A look at eBay shows one for about 90 bucks and the rest are new with prices all over the map from to bucks. I installed it and the result was the same immediate blown fuse in slot 5A. When I unplug the part, the fuse is not affected. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Do you know the trick of using a sealed beam, instead of a fuse.
Short to ground sounds absolutely feasible. It also sounds like it could be elusive but I am very interested in all you know on this subject. Please explain. Any link is appreciated too. I found it fine. I will check it out later today. Thanks for taking the time to send the information. GM must have been pretty proud of the design on that one…. The same electrical principles apply to all modern 12V vehicles Good luck! When the temperature reaches triple digits and you reach for the air conditioning in your Buick and all you receive is a stream of hot air, you know that it is time to act.
Air conditioning repair in autos can be time-consuming and expensive. However, before taking your Buick to a mechanic, there are a number of basic troubleshooting steps you can run through on your own. Check that the air conditioning controls are activated as well as the blower fan. Make sure the controls are not stuck or loose. Listen for the blend gate to open when you push the air conditioning to it's coldest setting.
Remove the fuses connected to the air conditioning system and check for any that are damaged or blown. Make sure to replace fuses with others of the same rating. If the fuse keeps blowing, there could be a problem with the circuit.
If the fuse to the blower fan keeps blowing, it may mean that the blower motor is bad. Look under the hood and check that the drive belt to the compressor is connected correctly and secure.
Start the engine, turn the air conditioning to the coldest setting and check under the hood to see that the magnetic clutch on the compressor kicks in.

Make sure that the belt is secure and not slipping or squealing. Replace the belt if it is damaged. Check the refrigerant hoses for any holes or kinks. Inspect for any connections and components that are oily. This could indicate a refrigerant leak.
Replace the hoses as necessary. Check the hoses near the compressor connection. One should be slightly cooler than the other. If they are both warm to the touch, the valve control could be bad. Take care when touching the hoses as they could inflict burns. Check to see if there is any serious damage to the compressor.
Make sure that the drive hub is not off-center or has paint damage as this may indicate serious overheating. The hub is the circular element that protrudes just forward of the belt pulley.
Test the compressor by turning the hub by hand. Make sure that it only offers minor resistance. It there is too much resistance, it could mean that it is time to install a new compressor.Nb sports

I just bought the car and it is has been sitting for a number of years. I bought it for 2 g's with 49 k on it. Great steal. Well now I am having a problem. To start, the defrost and floor vents were the only vents putting out air. I took apart the dash, jammed a stick in the flap for the defrost to jam it closed and then I disconnected the actuator that controlled the floor vents. I only need it coming out the vents, as I am in Arizona and never have to use defrost.
At any rate, it has been warming up here and with my air conditioning on, I get ice cold air out of the passenger side, but warm air out of the drivers side on a warm day. I have ripped everything apart and I am frustrated because I cannot see behind the heater coreor evaporator core because it is too difficult to get at.
Interior Fuse Box Location: 1991-1996 Buick Park Avenue
What it seems to me is that there is a door behind those items that is stuck half way. Just a tidbit Is there a possibility that the climate control unit needs to be replaces or calibrated? I don't use the auto function. There are 2 main ports where the air blows out of just above the heater core and evap core in the dash. With the plastic vents disconnected, and I put the heater on, only the right side door closes and then forces all the air out of the drivers side port.Autos helped make these videos.

If the system fails and the car won't start, you must follow a process of elimination to diagnose the problem.
The job requires familiarity with modern engine systems as well as the right tools. Be sure to use appropriate safeguards to prevent electrical damage to critical components. Check all the fuses in the fuse relay box on the driver's side fenderwell. Replace any blown fuses and try starting the car. Plug the code scanner cable plug into the OBD on board diagnostics port under the dash on the left side of the steering column.
Turn the ignition key to the run on position, but do not try to start the car. Press the "Read" key on the scanner. Record the codes and cross-reference the codes with the code sheet that accompanies the scanner.
The code sheet explains the object that has failed, when it failed and gives a brief summary of the expected cause of the failure. Repair the circuit indicated and attempt to start the car. Keep in mind that It is possible to have more than one problem. Determine whether the problem is fuel related or ignition related.
Open the hood and locate the Schrader valve located on the fuel rail above the fuel injectors. Cycle the ignition key to the run position and off three times, allowing a four-second pause between cycles. Remove the plastic cap and briefly push the Schrader valve core with the small screwdriver. If fuel pressure is present, proceed to the ignition check. If fuel pressure is not evident, remove the air cleaner air duct from the throttle body using a screwdriver.Blazorise bootstrap
Open the throttle plate with one hand by pushing on the linkage on the side of the throttle body. Spray a one-second shot of carburetor cleaner into the throttle body. Release the linkage and try to start the car.
If the car starts for a few seconds until the carburetor cleaner is exhausted, a fuel pump problem is indicated. Look in the fuse relay box on the driver's fenderwell and find the fuel pump relay. If you flip the fuse box cover over, a description of the location of all fuses and relays is illustrated. My fuel pump fuse keeps blowing as soon as I try to crank it up.
I've blown about 4 or 5 fuses already any suggestions. I don't know your vin? Some of my info shows a fuel prime connector behind the battery? A gray wire with electrical connector, nothing plugged into it.
You can use jumper wire from battery positive to that connector, the fuel pump should run, no need to use the key. Do use an inline fuse on the jumper, see what happens? You could use jumper wires from your battery for voltage and ground to fuel pump connector, use inline fuse, gray wire is voltage, black wire is ground. That will bypass the system wiring harness. See if the pump runs ok, if it still blows the fuse, check wiring connector, if that is ok, what else could it be except the fuel pump?Ammonia coke recipe
You did replace fuel filter? There is a new compressor, dryer, filter and freon for the AC in my 99 Park Ave, the fuse was blown for the AC system so I replaced it, it blew again, and again, and again. Up until the fuse blows eve I have a different car.
